Stockport Interchange (2023)
Geoman completed a design utilising a reinforced earth system at the Stockport Interchange. The face of the structure consisted of non-woven bags with a sand and compost mix to allow vegetation growth, and geogrids were used as reinforcement extending into the backfill. The wall reached a maximum height of approximately 4m and the vegetation allows for a more ‘soft engineered’ aesthetic over a traditional solution.
