Sligo County Council proposed to widen a carriageway over two historic stone masonry arches.

They proposed to widen the existing bridges using a proprietary unreinforced segmental concrete arch system. Geoman Ltd. was appointed to design the mass concrete foundations for the new sections.

The foundations were designed to accommodate a complex regime of forces in both vertical and horizontal planes caused by dynamic traffic loading.
