Permeable Paving, Glasgow (2009)
Geoman Ltd. has completed concept designs for hundreds of permeable pavement sustainable urban drainage systems.
These systems attenuate rainfall on a site, and eliminate or greatly reduce the outflow to storm drainage and risk of flooding. One such scheme was a large industrial estate on the outskirts of Glasgow.
Geoman Ltd. representatives visited the site and conducted dynamic cone penetrometer testing to ascertain the California Bearing Ratio of the subgrade. Several ‘soft spots’ were identified, and the design incorporated capping and basal reinforcement details.
